- Looks at your occlusion (bite)
- Assess you for any infections, including your tongue and gums
- Check for oral cancer by feeling for lumps in the jaw, neck and throat
- Record measurements of your gums to assess for gum disease
- Examines your teeth for caries (tooth decay)
- Offers oral health advice, tailored to you
At the end of your check-up
your dentist will make a judgement on how often they should see you based on their assessment of your oral health needs. They will usually set your next recall date within 3-6 months’ time.
Your oral health can change quickly over time so it’s vital that you keep to the recommended recall dates so we can help you to maintain great oral health and contribute to your overall health too.
