Dr Nick Longridge is a specialist endodontist. Nick works exclusively with a dental operating microscope to provide root canal treatment and root canal retreatment. His primary aim is to prolong the life of teeth that have become compromised through decay, trauma, dental abscesses or previous treatment. This may include removal of old crowns, assessment of tooth restorability, tooth decay management, post-crown removal, post-crown placement, management of dental trauma and management of facial swellings or dental abscesses.

Nick graduated with Honours from the University of Liverpool with distinctions in Restorative Dentistry, Oral Diseases and Oral Health. He has a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Anatomy and Human Biology and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Nick initially continued his postgraduate training with various house officer jobs in Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at Aintree University Hospital Regional Head and Neck Department, Alder Hey Paediatric Hospital and Liverpool University Dental Hospital.

In 2016, Nick was appointed as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow/Specialty Registrar in Endodontics at Liverpool University Dental Hospital, which culminated in him successfully passing his Membership in Endodontics Exam in 2019. Nick now works as a clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry at Liverpool teaching the next generation of dentists. He completed his professional doctorate in Endodontics in 2020, with his current research themes in pulp biology and regeneration.

Outside of Dentistry, Nick enjoys watching various sports including football and rugby. He is a keen athlete with regular running, swimming and cycling. Aside from sport, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially his wife and two children.
