What are the potential causes of Sleep Apnoea
Essentially there are two types of sleep apnoea. The first is when your throat muscles relax causing a blockage in your airway. This is called Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) occurs when your brain does not send the right signals to the muscles that control your breathing.
The risk of developing Sleep Apneoa can be increased if you are overweight, have a narrow airway or enlarged tonsils.
