Acne

What causes acne?

Acne can be brought on by hormonal changes in the body and is commonly linked to puberty although it can occur at any time throughout a person’s life. Factors which contribute to the severity of Acne includes the production of excess oil in the skin and a buildup of dead skin cells which can block pores and course infection. Bacteria thrives in clogged pores and can further exacerbate Acne causing inflammation and lesions.

How can you treat acne?

To help minimise the effects of Acne, keeping your skin clean and hydrated can make a big difference. Using quality skincare products which specialise with managing Acne is also something we would recommend. NB; In some cases you may need to see a dermatologist for medication to help treat Acne. Please consult your GP in you need to be referred.
