REPLACE MISSING TEETH AND RESTORE YOUR SMILE

Dental implants are the perfect solution if you are looking to replace missing teeth and restore your smile. Missing teeth can often cause you to lose confidence in your smile and we want to bring that smile back.

What are Dental Implants?

Missing or cracked teeth can often leave you feeling low on self-esteem and confidence. The best way to fix this is to replace the affected teeth and restore your smile.

Dental Implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth and are extremely natural-looking. They are implanted into your bone and so will be as strong as your own teeth and last a long time.

All on 4® Dental Implants

This is usually a same-day process of placing dental implants using 4 fixed points on the top or bottom of the mouth, hence the term all on 4.

This process is helpful for patients who are looking for a complete smile makeover or who have broken down, decayed teeth that need completely replacing.

Treatment Process

Step One

Complete our contact form to arrange a consultation with us.

Step Two

At your consultation we will talk you through your options and what will be required. We will also talk through the financing options available to you.

Step Three

The process for dental implants involves drilling a hole in your bone for the implant to go in. We will offer sedation if needed for this surgery as there may be some discomfort. Following this your implant will be put in place and the area cleaned up. It may then take 3-6 months for the implant to fully fuse to the bone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are dental implants per tooth?

Dental implants start at £2535 per tooth. Finance options are available

How long do dental implants take?

After a consultation, your dental implants can be completed in a few visits to us. The healing process can be 3-6 months and we will follow up after the treatment to check on the progress.

How long do dental implants last?

After a consultation, your dental implants can be completed in a few visits to us. The healing process can be 3-6 months and we will follow up after the treatment to check on the progress. Once you’ve had your consultation, your next visit will be surgery where we fit the metal post into your jawbone. You’ll then need to heal and allow the jawbone to strengthen around the artificial root so it can hold the crown which is fitted at a later date.

Do dental implants hurt?

It’s common to experience some pain and discomfort after having your dental implants fitted. This may last around 2 days but sometimes up to 10 days. This is all perfectly natural as your bone and gums heal and adjust to the new implant.

Can dental implants be replaced?

Dental implants can be removed however they are intended to be a permanent tooth replacement option. Main reasons a dental implant may be removed include implant failure where it did not properly attach the jawbone, due to an infection or too much force being applied to it causing it to become loose. The removal process is easier if the implant hasn’t already been fitted to the jawbone. Anaesthesia will be required so the dentist can remove the crown and implant without causing any pain.

Can dental implants be done in one day?

Dental implants can sometimes be completed in a day however they usually require a few visits. All-on-4 dental implants can be completed on the same day making them a popular option for people wanting a quick fix. You will still require a consultation to make sure you’re suitable for the treatment and a check-up after surgery to ensure you are healing well, however the implant procedure will be completed during one visit.

Can dental implants get infected?

In rare cases, dental implants can become infected. This results in inflammation of the soft gum tissues and potential bone loss around the implant. Symptoms of a dental implant infection will occur around the implant and can include tender or swollen gums, an enlarged pocket depth, and bleeding gums when brushing. The implant will eventually become loose as the bone around it weakens. You should contact your dentist immediately if you think you have an infection in your implant.

How do dental implants work?

Dental implants are fitted into your gums to replace missing teeth. They look extremely realistic and function the same as a natural tooth as they are implanted into your jaw bone providing a firm fit. They integrate with your real teeth meaning you can eat and chew food without worrying about your implant moving around, which is an issue with dentures.

How are dental implants made?

The dental implant consists of different parts. The root is made of titanium which is screwed into the jawbone. The crown which is the replacement tooth is usually made from porcelain. Ceramic implants are also an option.

How are dental implants fitted?

Your dental implant is fitted directly into your jawbone. Your oral surgeon makes a cut to open your gum so they can expose the area of bone the implant will be fitted into. Holes are drilled into the bone where the metal post will be placed. The post acts as a root holding your implant firmly in place inside your mouth. The artificial crown is attached to the post. This usually requires your jawbone to heal so it’s strong enough to support the new tooth which can take several months.

Can you get dental implants on the NHS?

Dental implants are not usually available on the NHS and will only be provided in rare cases. NHS implant treatment may be available for severe cases like reconstructive surgery following major trauma, or for patients who have had oral cancer. All decisions on this are made by consultants in NHS hospitals and the treatment would be performed at an NHS location. You will need to speak to your dentist and ask for a referral if you think you may be entitled to this treatment.
